Tarrant County Booking Records | Charges, Bond and Release

Tarrant County, Texas · Daily bookings, CID lookup, charges, bond and release

Follow a Tarrant County Booking From Intake to Release

Start with the official inmate search when you know the person’s name or CID. For a broader look at recent arrests, use the Sheriff’s daily booked-in report, which covers the latest 14 days. Save the CID, booking date, charge description and every bond entry before calling the jail or checking court records.

A listed bond does not always mean the person can leave immediately. Another charge, warrant, hold or court order can block release. This guide shows how to read the result, confirm the filed misdemeanor or felony case, post bond, track release and help someone with visitation, mail, calls, money, medical needs or appointed counsel.

Booked legal name CID if known Approximate arrest date Arresting agency Case number if filed
FORT WORTH BOOKING SWITCHYARD ROUTING CID
CHARGE + BOND BOARD
CHARGE BOND HOLD COURT
RELEASE CHECK COMPLETE
ALL CASES + HOLDS VERIFIED
Booking is not conviction. A jail entry shows arrest and custody information available during the detention process. It does not establish guilt and may not show the charge ultimately accepted, rejected or changed by the prosecutor.

Official inmate lookup

Search a Tarrant County inmate by name or CID

The live Tarrant County inmate-search form includes fields for last name, first name, CID, race, sex and number of records to display.
Open the official inmate search Use the Tarrant County-hosted database rather than a copied roster. Open Tarrant County Inmate Search
Start with the last name Add the first name when the surname returns too many people.
Use the CID whenever it is known The CID is more precise than a name and helps with mail, deposits and jail questions.
Use race or sex only to narrow a broad list Do not treat those fields as sufficient identity verification.
Increase records displayed when necessary A common name may produce more matches than the default result count shows.
Open each plausible record Compare the booked name, CID, age or date information, booking date and known arrest circumstances.
Write down every charge A person may have several charges with separate bonds, courts or holds.
Save the CID before closing the page It can prevent name confusion when calling the jail or arranging services.
Call when the online status is unclear Ask whether the person is processing, housed, transferred, released or held on another matter. Call Tarrant County Jail: 817-884-3000
Continue to the criminal court record The booking page does not establish the filed charge or final disposition.
Save before leaving the search: booked name, CID, booking date, charge description, bond amount, arresting agency, court or case information and current custody status.
Last 14 days

Use Tarrant County’s daily booked-in reports for a new arrest

The Sheriff publishes a separate booked-in report for each of the latest 14 days. Day 1 is the newest report, while day 14 is the oldest report still available through that page.

Use the report when

The arrest was recent, the CID is unknown or the spelling used during booking is uncertain.

Use inmate search when

You need one person’s current record, detailed charge information or a CID-based result.

Use court records when

The person was released or the prosecutor has already filed a misdemeanor or felony case.

Do not assume absence means no arrest. The event may be outside the 14-day window, still processing, listed differently, handled by another county or resolved through cite-and-release without a normal jail stay.

Each charge may carry a separate bond or release restriction.

Another warrant exists

A different city, county, state or federal agency may have an active hold.

Court review is pending

A magistrate or assigned judge may need to set or change conditions.

Booking is still underway Identification, medical screening, record entry and magistration can occur before the public result is complete.
The person was released quickly Check the daily booked-in report and the appropriate criminal court record.
The name is entered differently Try the surname alone, another spelling, a hyphenated name, maiden name, suffix or alias.
The event was cite-and-release Some qualifying Class A or B misdemeanor allegations can proceed without a standard county-jail booking.
The person is in a city jail Arlington, Mansfield, Fort Worth or another municipal agency may initially hold the person.
The booking happened in another county Search the county where the person was physically processed.
The person was transferred Check TDCJ or federal custody after transfer to another system.

Charge review and magistration

What happens between booking and a filed criminal case?

Central booking Tarrant County states that inmates are centrally received at the Corrections Center, where they are booked, photographed and enrolled in the identification system.
Medical and identity screening Intake staff review identity and immediate health or safety needs before classification and housing.
Magistrate warning A magistrate advises the arrested person of the accusation and legal rights and reviews release conditions.
Individual bond assessment Tarrant County says magistrates consider the alleged facts, risk of new offense, ability to pay and history of appearing in court.
Prosecutor intake review The District Attorney may accept the case, request more investigation, modify the proposed charge or reject the case.
Court filing Class A and B misdemeanors go to County Criminal Courts. Felonies go through the District Clerk and district criminal courts.
A booking charge can change. Tarrant County’s prosecution intake process includes reviewing evidence and deciding whether the alleged offense and charge are supported. That is why the court filing must be checked separately.

Documents available before a felony case is filed

The District Clerk’s unfiled-criminal-case service can provide certain magistration documents before a formal felony case exists.

Probable-cause records

Probable Cause Affidavit and Probable Cause Determination.

Verify the correct person and CID Do not discuss or pay a bond based only on a common name.
List every charge Ask whether each charge has a bond, no bond, personal bond or another condition.
Ask whether bond has actually been set A booking entry can appear before magistration or later judicial review is complete.
Check for warrants and outside holds Another jurisdiction, parole authority, immigration agency or separate case may prevent release.
Confirm the total cash amount A person paying the bond directly is required to pay the full bond amount.
Consider a licensed surety only after verification Confirm the company or agent is authorised in Tarrant County and obtain a written agreement.
Get an itemised receipt It should identify the bond fee, any collateral, the defendant, CID and case or charge covered.
Keep court-contact information current The defendant, attorney and bondsman need reliable contact details for future settings.
Wait for release clearance Payment is followed by verification of charges, holds, orders, identity and paperwork.
Bond-verification call script
I am calling about [full booked name], CID [number]. Please confirm every active charge, the current bond or release condition for each charge, any no-bond entry, warrant or outside hold, the total amount required and the approved place and method for posting it.

Warrant questions

Tarrant County does not publish a general criminal-warrant list

The Sheriff states that it is not TCSO policy to release criminal-warrant information to the general public. The official guidance directs people seeking criminal-warrant information to a licensed bondsman or attorney.
Person already in jail

Use the inmate search or call 817-884-3000 for displayed charges and bond information.

Traffic citation warrant

Contact the court or agency that issued the citation. A TCSO-issued citation routes to the Justice of the Peace named on it.

Criminal warrant concern

Speak with a licensed criminal attorney or verified Tarrant County bondsman rather than confronting anyone.

Parking: Tarrant County does not guarantee free visitor parking at the Corrections Center. Review the map before leaving, allow time for downtown traffic and parking and avoid relying on a short metered space for a court or jail visit.
One county-operated downtown option is the Calhoun Street Parking Garage near Weatherford and Calhoun. The county currently publishes a rate of $4 for the first 30 minutes up to a $10 maximum, subject to change. Street meters commonly have enforced time limits.

  • Eye examinations
Medication

Licensed jail medical staff distribute medication under jail-physician orders.

Do not mail prescription bottles or hand medication to detention staff without first following the current medical process.

Property release

Routine property release is restricted. TCSO primarily authorises it for people being transferred to TDCJ or under documented hardship approved by jail command.

TCSO re-entry services can connect requesting inmates with education, counselling and community resources before release. Re-entry Services lists 817-884-3088 as its contact number.
Correction and record clearing

Fix an inaccurate booking record before seeking legal relief

Identify the wrong system Compare the inmate record, arresting-agency report, County Clerk case, District Clerk case and Texas DPS history.
Save the disputed entry Record the page, CID, booking date, report number, case number and exact incorrect field.
Obtain controlling proof Request a certified dismissal, judgment, amended order or written agency correction.
Contact the record owner TCSO cannot rewrite a city police report, and a clerk cannot independently change a law-enforcement narrative.
Recheck connected systems A government correction may not automatically update DPS or a private background-reporting company.
Dispute private reports separately Send the reporting company the certified disposition and identify the specific inaccurate item.

Expunction

An eligible expunction can require covered agencies to destroy or remove the specified arrest records. Eligibility is limited and depends on the complete case history.

Tarrant County District Clerk expunction contact: 817-884-1231

Order of nondisclosure

An eligible nondisclosure order restricts public disclosure of a covered record but does not erase it from every government or authorised-agency system.

District Clerk nondisclosure contact: 817-884-2508

Tarrant County publishes an agency-contact list to help expunction petitioners identify entities that may hold covered records. Petitioners remain responsible for including all applicable agencies.
Correction and expunction are different. Correction addresses inaccurate information. Expunction or nondisclosure concerns an accurate record that may qualify for legal restriction.

10 booking questions

Tarrant County booking, bond and release FAQs

How do I search Tarrant County booking records?

Use the official Tarrant County inmate search. Enter a last name, first name or CID number, then narrow the results by race, sex or the number of records displayed when necessary. Open the possible match and verify the full booked name, CID, age or date of birth information, booking date, charges and bond entries before relying on it.

What is a CID number in the Tarrant County inmate search?

A CID is a Tarrant County identification number associated with a person in the local jail system. It is more precise than a name-only search and should be saved for jail, mail, deposit, telephone and records questions. A CID can cover more than one custody event, so also compare the booking date and court case.

How can I see everyone booked into Tarrant County Jail today?

Open the Sheriff’s Daily Booked In Reports page. It provides separate reports for the most recent 14 days, with day 1 being the newest. Use the individual inmate search when you need current housing, complete charge information or a specific person’s record.

Why is a recent Tarrant County arrest not appearing online?

The person may still be processing, may have been released quickly, may be listed under a different spelling, may have received a citation instead of being booked, or may be held by a city or another county. Try the last name alone, check the Daily Booked In Reports and call the Tarrant County Jail information line at 817-884-3000.

Does a Tarrant County booking charge show the final court outcome?

No. A booking charge records an allegation connected with jail intake. Prosecutors may accept, reject or change the charge. Class A and B misdemeanor records are maintained by the Tarrant County Clerk, while felony records are maintained by the District Clerk. Read the disposition for every filed count.

Where can I post a Tarrant County jail bond?

Bonds may be posted 24 hours a day at the Bond Desk inside the Tarrant County Corrections Center, 100 North Lamar Street, Fort Worth, Texas 76196. Call 817-884-3000 first to confirm that bond has been set, the current amount and whether another charge, warrant or hold may prevent release.

How long does release take after a Tarrant County bond is posted?

Tarrant County does not publish one guaranteed release time. Staff must verify the bond, all pending charges, court orders, warrants, holds, identity and release paperwork. Call 817-884-3000 for current status and do not assume payment creates an immediate exit.

When can I visit an inmate in Tarrant County Jail?

The schedule depends on the first letter of the inmate’s last name. A through L generally visit Saturday and Monday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. M through Z generally visit Sunday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Review the current Sheriff visitation page before traveling.

How do I send mail or money to a Tarrant County inmate?

Regular personal mail is sent to Smart Communications using the inmate’s booked name and CID number and is scanned for tablet viewing. Legal mail, approved books, magazines and postal or Western Union money orders continue to use 100 North Lamar Street. Electronic deposits may be made through Access Corrections or facility lobby kiosks.

Can a Tarrant County booking record be expunged or sealed?

Some Texas records may qualify for expunction or an order of nondisclosure. Eligibility depends on the charge, case disposition, waiting period, prior history and other circumstances. Obtain the complete felony or misdemeanor disposition first and use current Texas court forms or qualified legal advice before filing.
