Bexar County, Texas · 24-hour arrests, seven-day jail reports, SID lookup and court outcomes

Find a Recent Bexar County Booking Before the 24-Hour List Changes

Begin with the Central Magistrate list when the arrest happened within the last day. It covers people processed for a Class B misdemeanor or higher offense and can show the name, identifying information, SID, booking number and charge details.

Save the SID and booking number immediately. The recent-arrest list changes as new defendants are processed, while the Sheriff’s jail activity reports remain available for only seven days. For the filed charge and final outcome, continue to the Bexar County Justice Information Portal.

Central Magistrate recent arrest list

Search arrests processed during the previous 24 hours

The Bexar County Central Magistrate Search is designed for people arrested for a Class B offense or higher and processed by the Central Magistrate Office during the previous 24 hours.
Open the official Central Magistrate Search Open the live 24-hour arrest list
Search the displayed list by surname On a computer, use the browser’s Find command when the list is long. On a phone, use the browser menu’s Find on Page option when available.
Try alternate name forms Look for a hyphenated surname, maiden name, suffix, middle name or spelling used during booking.
Compare the identifying field Check the displayed date-of-birth or age information before treating the entry as the correct person.
Save the SID The SID helps with inmate information, visits, mail, deposits, court searches and records requests.
Save the booking number The booking number identifies the particular detention intake rather than every event associated with the person.
Open or expand the charge information Record each alleged offense, bond entry and available cause or case number.
Use File Export when helpful The official tool provides an export option that can make a long result list easier to review.
Continue to the court portal A magistrate entry does not show the final prosecution result.
The list is intentionally narrow. It may not show a Class C citation, a person processed outside Bexar County, an arrest older than 24 hours, a juvenile matter or a record that has not finished updating.
BCSO jail activity reports

Find bookings that no longer appear on the 24-hour list

BCSO maintains jail activity reports online for a maximum of seven days. The Sheriff warns that some information may not appear yet when a defendant is still moving through booking.
Open Jail Activity Reports View the available BCSO reports
Select the date closest to the arrest Check the day of arrest and the following day when booking may have crossed midnight.
Open the relevant report displayed by BCSO The available report types can change, so use the labels shown on the live county page.
Search inside the report Use the PDF or browser search function for the last name, SID or booking number.
Check more than one day A person arrested late at night may appear in a later booking report.
Save the report date The report date helps explain when the information was captured and why a later court or release record differs.
Call when the status is urgent Online reports are not a substitute for a live custody or bond confirmation.
Do not pay for these reports. BCSO provides the jail activity reports free of charge and states that it does not take payment by telephone to avoid arrest.
Scam warning: BCSO says it will not ask a person to buy gift cards or send cryptocurrency. Verify any claimed warrant or release payment through an official county number.

Misdemeanor and felony court records

Verify what happened after the booking

Bexar County’s new Justice Information Portal consolidates the former court-record, fugitive and bail-bond searches. It is a free public research tool, but the county states that portal information is not a substitute for an official certified record.
Open the Justice Information Portal Open the Bexar County Justice Portal
Search by the exact cause number first A cause number from the booking or magistrate result is safer than a broad name search.
Use the party-name search when necessary Enter the last and first name, then narrow the result with date, court or case type when available.
Compare the SID, DOB, filing date and court Confirm that the result follows the same arrest.
Identify misdemeanor or felony jurisdiction The County Clerk generally maintains misdemeanor county-court cases; the District Clerk maintains felony district-court cases.
Read every charge separately One count can be dismissed while another remains pending or ends in a different result.
Look for the actual disposition Find dismissal, plea, deferred adjudication, acquittal, conviction, sentence or another final action.
Check the hearings area for the next setting A court date shown in an arrest record may change.
Request a certified record when proof is required Contact the County Clerk for misdemeanor documents or the District Clerk for felony documents.

Start with the consolidated Justice Information Portal and Bexar County Clerk Criminal Central Filing.

  • Central Filing: 210-335-2238
  • County Clerk main number: 210-335-2216

  • Confirm current copy and certification fees before ordering.

Felony case

The District Clerk is the official custodian of felony district-court records.

  • Criminal Filing: 210-335-2591
  • Paul Elizondo Tower, 101 W. Nueva Street
  • Search the cause number before requesting copies.
  • Ask for a certified disposition when formal proof is needed.

Telephone verification

Contact the Bexar County Sheriff’s warrant division at 210-335-6030.

Use the court docket to determine whether an older warrant was served, recalled or replaced.

Safety rule: Do not confront, follow or attempt to detain anyone based on an online result. Similar names, delayed updates and recalled warrants can create serious mistakes.
Payment scam warning: BCSO does not accept telephone payments to avoid arrest and will not demand gift cards or cryptocurrency.
Current charges, bond and release

Confirm every active matter before posting bond

BCSO’s inmate and bond information line provides current charge, bond and warrant information at 210-335-6201. Have the person’s full name and date of birth ready.
Verify the person Use the exact booked name, DOB and SID.
List every charge and cause Do not ask only for the first bond amount.
Ask about every warrant or hold Another case, county, state or agency may prevent release.
Confirm whether a bond has been set A displayed arrest does not guarantee that a bond amount is immediately available.
Ask which bond type is permitted The court may authorize surety, cash, personal recognizance or another condition.
Verify a surety company’s active license Use the Bexar County Bail Bond Board list.
Use the exact approved payment instrument BCSO states that cash bonds are posted with a cashier’s check or money order payable to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.
Bring valid identification BCSO does not accept cash, traveller’s checks or personal checks for a cash bond.
Keep the original receipt A cash-bond refund may depend on the receipt and a later court order.
Allow for release processing Staff must clear every case, warrant and hold before the person can leave.
Bond-verification call script
I am calling about [full booked name], date of birth [date], SID [number] and booking number [number]. Please confirm every current charge and cause number, every bond amount and bond type, any warrant or outside hold, the total amount required and the approved place and payment method for posting bond.
A personal bond is ordered by a magistrate or judge. BCSO’s published information states that the personal-bond fee may be $20 or three percent of the bail amount, whichever is greater, unless the court waives or reduces it for good cause.
Unique Bexar County warrant option

Some active warrants can be processed without entering the main jail

The Booking and Release Satellite Office allows some defendants with active warrants to complete magistration and bonding without visiting the Adult Detention Center.
The satellite office cannot process every warrant. It excludes violent offenses, sexual offenses, crimes against children, out-of-county warrants and out-of-state warrants. Those matters must be processed through the Justice Intake and Assessment Annex at 200 N. Comal Street.
Call before going

Confirm that the warrant is active and eligible at 210-335-2592.

A bond amount must be set before the satellite office can process the bond.

Magistration hours

Errors, expunction and nondisclosure

Correct the record before trying to restrict it

Locate every version of the event Compare Central Magistrate, BCSO reports, the arresting-agency report, the Justice Portal and Texas DPS.
Identify the exact error Record the incorrect name, charge, DOB, SID, booking number, cause number or disposition.
Get the controlling document Obtain the certified dismissal, judgment, order or agency correction.
Contact the office that created the error The Sheriff cannot independently rewrite an SAPD report, and the Clerk cannot change a police narrative.
Recheck downstream databases A local correction may not immediately update DPS or a private background-reporting company.
Dispute private reports separately Provide the certified court disposition and identify the exact inaccurate item.

Expunction

An eligible expunction may require agencies to destroy or remove covered arrest records. Eligibility is limited and depends on the exact arrest and case result.

Read Texas expunction guidance

Order of nondisclosure

An eligible nondisclosure order restricts public disclosure but does not erase every government record or prevent every authorized agency from viewing it.

Open Texas court forms
Correction and clearing are different. Correction addresses inaccurate information. Expunction or nondisclosure addresses an accurate record that may qualify for legal relief.
Obtain both misdemeanor and felony dispositions when the arrest produced more than one case. Eligibility can be affected by another charge arising from the same arrest.

Local mistakes to avoid

Do not wait longer than seven days

BCSO removes jail activity reports after the maximum seven-day posting period.

Save the SID immediately

It is the most useful local identifier for jail services and record requests.

Use the correct clerk

County Clerk handles misdemeanor records; District Clerk handles felony district-court records.

Do not mail money with a letter

Trust-fund payments use a separate P.O. box and must include the SID.

Use 222 S. Comal for video visits

The Video Visitation Center is separate from the main detention address.

Do not park at a meter for satellite processing

The Booking and Release Satellite Office warns that eligible warrant processing may take about three hours.

10 Bexar County questions

Bexar County arrest records and recent booking FAQs

How do I search recent Bexar County arrests?

Use the Bexar County Central Magistrate Search for people processed during the previous 24 hours for a Class B misdemeanor or higher offense. Locate the person by name, then compare the date-of-birth or age field, SID and booking number. Open the charge details and save every case or cause number before checking the Bexar County Justice Information Portal.

What arrests appear in the Bexar County Central Magistrate Search?

The official Central Magistrate Search covers people processed by the Central Magistrate Office during the previous 24 hours for an offense classified as Class B or higher. It is not a complete historical arrest database and may not include a Class C citation, an arrest processed outside Bexar County or information that has not finished updating.

How do I find a Bexar County booking older than 24 hours?

Check the Bexar County Sheriff’s Jail Activity Reports, which remain online for a maximum of seven days. For an older booking, search the Bexar County Justice Information Portal by name or case number, contact the appropriate misdemeanor or felony clerk, or call the inmate and bond information line at 210-335-6201 with the person’s full name and date of birth.

What is a Bexar County SID number?

A SID is a system identification number associated with a person in Bexar County’s local criminal-justice and detention systems. It is used for jail information, mail, deposits, visits and some record requests. Find it through the Central Magistrate Search, call County Clerk Central Filing at 210-335-2238 for misdemeanor information, or call District Clerk Criminal Filing at 210-335-2591 for felony information.

How can I confirm Bexar County jail charges and bond amounts?

Call the Bexar County inmate and bond information line at 210-335-6201 and provide the person’s full name and date of birth. Ask for every active charge, cause number, bond amount, warrant and hold. Do not assume that paying the amount shown for one charge will release the person when another case or hold remains active.
