Check Who Is in Midland County Jail Right Now
The Midland County Sheriff publishes a live-style Currently Held Detainees list. You can search a partial or complete last name or open the full roster. Each entry can show the charge, court, arrest date, bond, fines, disposition, sentence fields and the attorney currently listed in the system.
The important limitation is easy to miss: this is a current-custody roster, not a complete historical booking database. If someone was released, transferred or never booked into Midland County, use the court-record and open-record routes explained below instead of assuming no arrest exists.

What are you actually trying to find?
Use the current-detainee roster first. It is the quickest answer for present county custody.

What the Midland County inmate list is actually showing
| Roster field | What it helps you identify | What it does not prove | Best next step |
|---|---|---|---|
| Name | The name under which the detainee is currently listed. | Identity by itself when people share similar names. | Compare arrest date, known charge, court and case number. |
| Address | An address displayed in the Sheriff’s public record. | Current residence or identity by itself. | Do not republish it unnecessarily; use stronger case identifiers. |
| Attorney | The lawyer currently shown for that detainee entry. | That counsel has never changed or that “NONE” will remain accurate. | Check the court docket or ask the court about appointed counsel. |
| Offense | The allegation, warrant, hold or offense attached to that row. | Guilt or final prosecution outcome. | Search the court case. |
| Class | The offense-level code such as F1, F2, F3, FS, MA, MB or MC. | The charge cannot later be amended. | Use it to choose felony, misdemeanor or Class C court records. |
| Court | The court or authority associated with the entry. | The next hearing date. | Use the correct Clerk or court office. |
| County | Which county is associated with the displayed matter. | Midland County controls an out-of-county case. | Contact the named county when it is not Midland. |
| Warrant number | A warrant, complaint or case-related number shown on the roster. | That an older warrant remains active. | Compare it with the current court record. |
| Arrest date | The arrest or custody-related date tied to that roster row. | The exact date of the alleged offense. | Compare with the arrest report. |
| Bond | The bond amount currently displayed for that matter. | Payment will release the person from every case or hold. | Review all rows and call Detention before paying. |
| Fines | A fine amount associated with the displayed entry. | That paying it alone will produce release. | Confirm the responsible court and payment route. |
| Disposition | A current status such as pending, dismissed, sentenced or replaced by another filing. | That the roster contains the complete court history. | Open the controlling court record. |
| Years / Months / Weeks / Days / Hours | Sentence-time information when the roster displays it. | Actual release date after credits, other holds or later orders. | Confirm with the court and Detention Division. |

Someone was arrested, but the name is not on the roster

This distinction matters. The Sheriff labels the public tool as a list of currently held detainees. If the person has left custody, use the related criminal case plus the arresting agency’s report instead.
Need the arrest or offense report?
The Midland County Sheriff has a formal Public Information Request process for Sheriff-created records.
- Identify the exact record rather than asking a general question.
- The Sheriff form includes offense reports, arrest reports, accident photos, crime-scene photos, body-camera and dash-camera records.
- Add the incident number and date of occurrence when known.
- You may request only non-confidential information to reduce unnecessary review of protected material.
- Charges may apply.

Do not pay the first bond amount you see
The Midland roster can show multiple rows for the same detainee. Review every case before paying. A separate warrant, another county, parole matter, fine or no-bond entry can keep someone in custody even when one charge shows a dollar amount.

If the criminal case was filed, the money is handled through the Clerk of that court. If the case was dismissed before filing or indictment, the jail may handle the refund.

What family members can and cannot bring
The jail FAQ says a prescription may be accepted only when it is current and has not expired.
Call Detention before travelling because medical staff may need to review how the medication will be handled.
The only outside clothing/property the jail FAQ specifically says it accepts for inmates is court clothing.
It may be brought before trial and picked up afterward.
The jail says it does not release an inmate’s property while that person remains in custody.
Do not keep refreshing the roster if you need a notification
Midland County directs users to VINE for release and custody-status notifications.
Register through VINELinkThe jail FAQ states that staff will not give dates or times for when an inmate will be picked up by another county.
Use VINE and the receiving jurisdiction when a transfer is expected.
If the roster says “Attorney: NONE,” do not stop there
Midland County publishes a formal Indigent Defense Plan for defendants who cannot afford counsel. The county’s current court materials provide appointment procedures and indigence forms rather than directing defendants to a separate county Public Defender office.
Requesting court-appointed counsel
- The defendant should ask for appointed counsel during magistration or through the court handling the criminal case.
- Financial eligibility is determined under Midland County’s indigent-defense rules.
- A current jail roster showing no attorney is not the final word on whether an appointment is pending.
- Use the court number and case/warrant number from the roster when asking about counsel.
Private lawyer
Verify a lawyer’s Texas licence status and ask specifically about Midland County criminal-court experience, the charge involved and the scope of the fee agreement.
Do not treat a bail-bond company as legal counsel.
Use the State Bar lawyer referral servicePretrial supervision does not end when someone walks out of jail
Midland County says misdemeanor defendants on personal-bond supervision generally report every other week.
Felony defendants generally report in person weekly unless the court orders something different.

Wrong information
Correction and record clearing are different. If the Sheriff record itself is inaccurate, identify the exact field and supporting court document, then contact the office that owns the record.
Expunction or nondisclosure
Midland County’s District Clerk publishes an expunction agency-address resource and order-of-nondisclosure forms. Eligibility depends on the actual charge, disposition and Texas law—not simply whether the person has left the jail roster.

How do I search the Midland County jail roster?
Open the official Midland County Sheriff’s Office Currently Held Detainees page. You can view all current detainees or enter a partial or complete last name. Open the relevant entry and review the offense, offense class, court, county, warrant or case number, arrest date, bond, fines, disposition, sentence fields and listed attorney.
Does the Midland County inmate list show everyone who was arrested?
No. The online tool is a current-detainee roster, not a complete historical arrest database. Someone who was released, transferred or never booked into Midland County may not appear. For an older arrest, check the appropriate Midland County court record and request the arrest or offense report from the agency that created it.
Why can I not find someone on the Midland County jail roster?
The person may still be processing, may already have been released, may be listed under another spelling, may have been booked in another county or may have received a citation instead of a county-jail booking. Try a partial last name, use View All Detainees, check the court records and call the Detention Division at 432-688-4745 or 432-688-4746 when necessary.
What information appears on the Midland County detainee roster?
Current roster entries can display the detainee’s name, listed address, attorney, offense, offense class, court, county, warrant or case number, arrest date, bond amount, fines, disposition and sentence-time fields. The roster also displays a timestamp showing when the current-detainee information was generated.
How do I find the bond for a Midland County inmate?
The current-detainee roster displays a bond column for individual charges or cases. Review every row because one person may have several cases, holds or bond conditions. Midland County also accepts eligible self-release bail payments through the jail kiosk or TouchPay. Call the Detention Division before paying if any charge shows no bond, a hold or an unclear disposition.
What are the Midland County Jail visitation hours?
The Sheriff’s current visitation page lists video visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Eligible inmates may receive a maximum of two visitors per visiting day, normal visits are at least 20 minutes per visitor, and a visitor may visit only once per visitation day on non-consecutive days.
How do I send mail to an inmate in Midland County Jail?
Personal mail is sent to the Securus Digital Mail Center using the inmate’s full name and inmate ID, Midland County TX Jail, C/O Securus Digital Mail Center, PO Box 21227, Tampa, FL 33622. Legal mail and qualifying publications use the Midland County Sheriff’s Office Detention Division address at PO Box 11387, Midland, TX 79701.
How do I put money on a Midland County inmate account?
Midland County directs inmate-account deposits to the lobby kiosk or TouchPay. Deposits may also be made by telephone at 866-232-1899. The county states that money orders and cashier’s checks are no longer accepted for inmate-account deposits. Confirm the inmate and keep the transaction receipt.
How do I find a Midland County inmate’s court case?
Use the court and case or warrant information shown on the jail roster. Class A and Class B misdemeanor cases are maintained by the Midland County Clerk, which provides an online public court-record portal. Felony proceedings are maintained by the Midland County District Clerk. Class C city cases may belong to Midland Municipal Court.
How can I be notified when a Midland County inmate is released?
Midland County directs people seeking release and custody-status notifications to VINE. Register through VINELink rather than repeatedly relying on an old screenshot of the roster, and recheck the official jail list when immediate custody status matters.
