Find a Midland County Booking, Then Follow the Case Beyond the Jail
If someone may be in the Midland County Jail now, the Sheriff’s Currently Held Detainees database is the fastest place to start. Search a full or partial last name, or open the complete detainee list and compare the arrest date, charge, court, warrant or case number and bond.
Midland does not currently label this database as a separate “recent bookings” archive. It is a live custody list. That distinction matters: someone who was booked and released may disappear from the jail list even though an arrest report and criminal court case still exist.

How to use Midland’s live jail list for recent bookings
Open the full detainee list and inspect the Arrest Date field. Newer dates identify more recent custody events among people who remain jailed.
The person may disappear from the current list. Search the criminal court record or request the arrest or booking record from the responsible agency.
Use the Sheriff’s Texas Public Information Act process rather than treating today’s live detainee page as a historical booking archive.
A better way to confirm a recent arrest
What the columns on the current-detainee page mean
| Field | What it helps identify | What it does not prove | Best next step |
|---|---|---|---|
| Attorney | Counsel currently associated with the detainee or case when listed. | That counsel represents the person on every charge. | Match the lawyer to the specific court cause. |
| Offense | The allegation or case description tied to that line. | Guilt or the final conviction offense. | Compare the court charging document and disposition. |
| Class | The displayed offense level, such as misdemeanor, state-jail felony or another felony level. | That the prosecutor will retain the same level. | Use the class and cause number to identify the court. |
| Court | Which local, state, federal or outside authority is connected to the entry. | That the court listed is the final trial court. | Use the court-code router below. |
| County | Whether the case belongs to Midland or another jurisdiction. | That Midland County can resolve an outside warrant. | Contact the issuing county or agency when it is not Midland. |
| Warrant / case number | The specific warrant, complaint or court cause attached to the line. | That every charge in the booking uses the same number. | Save every number separately. |
| Arrest date | When that warrant or charge was associated with the custody event. | The exact date of the alleged offense. | Use it to identify newer bookings and match reports. |
| Bond | A bond amount shown for that individual line. | That paying it releases the person from every case. | Review all lines and holds before paying. |
| Fines | A displayed fine amount associated with certain cases. | That payment is the only release requirement. | Contact the responsible court or jail. |
| Disposition | A status currently attached to that jail entry. | That every charge in the case ended the same way. | Verify through the official court docket. |
| Years / months / weeks / days / hours | Sentence-time information when the jail record includes it. | A projected release date by itself. | Confirm release calculations with Detention. |
Statuses you may encounter
The case is not shown as finally resolved on that jail line. Check the court docket.
A preliminary charge or warrant may have been superseded by a felony indictment. Search the newer District Court cause.
A dismissal on one line does not automatically dispose of the detainee’s other charges.
The person may be serving a county-jail sentence rather than waiting only for pretrial release.
The entry concerns fine-related custody credit. Confirm the actual release calculation with Detention or the responsible court.
A separate agency may be requesting custody. Paying a Midland bond may not clear that hold.
Why someone you believe was arrested may not appear
The court abbreviation tells you where to look next
| Jail-list indicator | What it generally points to | Best record source |
|---|---|---|
| JP1 / JP2 / JP3 / JP4 | Justice of the Peace or magistrate-stage matter. | Relevant Midland County Justice Court; later check County or District Court if a formal case is filed. |
| CC / CCL / CCL2 | County-level misdemeanor court matter. | Midland County Clerk criminal misdemeanor records. |
| 142 / 238 / 385 / 441 | One of Midland County’s numbered District Courts. | Midland County District Clerk for felony proceedings. |
| MC | City of Midland Municipal Court matter. | Midland Municipal Court, 201 E. Texas. |
| OOC / another county | Outside-county warrant or case. | Contact the issuing jurisdiction rather than assuming Midland can resolve it. |
| US FED | Federal hold or detainer indicator. | The named federal authority or federal court record. |
| BPP / parole | State parole-related hold or proceeding. | Texas parole / TDCJ resources and the person’s lawyer. |

Why mail may be returned
Midland County inmates cannot receive ordinary incoming calls
An inmate can place a collect call when the receiving telephone number does not block collect calls.
The receiving party can establish a prepaid account with Securus. The inmate calls that number, the recipient accepts the call and the cost is deducted from the account.
Medication, court clothing and property questions
The jail FAQ says a prescription can be accepted only when it is current and not expired.
Call Detention before travelling with medication so staff can confirm the current intake process.
The jail accepts court clothing for an inmate before trial. Ordinary clothing, hygiene products and jewelry are not accepted as general inmate property.
When a person leaves for TDCJ or state jail, the county FAQ says an authorised person receives a letter and must bring both that letter and identification for pickup.

Things that are easy to miss on a quick jail search
The live list is current custody. Do not tell a reader that it represents everyone arrested this week.
You do not need to know the exact full last name to begin the official detainee search.
That is useful when family members need to determine whether counsel has already entered the case.
Read the individual charge lines rather than assuming the top or newest date explains every case.
The county separately lists 2106 “A” Street as the Detention Visitor Center.
Ordinary personal letters use the Securus Digital Mail Center, not the downtown detention address.
Use the jail kiosk, TouchPay website or TouchPay telephone service.
County Clerk handles Class A/B misdemeanors; District Clerk is the record office for District Court felonies.
MC lines belong to Midland Municipal Court, where the city publishes free downtown parking guidance.
Midland County arrest-record questions answered
How do I search Midland County Texas arrest records?
Start with the Midland County Sheriff’s Currently Held Detainees database for someone who may still be in jail. Search by a full or partial last name or open the complete detainee list. The result can show the person’s name, attorney, offense, offense class, court, county, warrant or case number, arrest date, bond, fines and disposition. For a final criminal case outcome, continue to the appropriate Midland County court record.
Does Midland County have a recent bookings list?
Midland County’s public Sheriff database is labelled Currently Held Detainees rather than Recent Bookings. The full detainee list includes an Arrest Date for individual charges, so it can help identify newer jail admissions among people who remain in custody. Someone who has already been released may no longer appear, so use court records or request the booking or arrest record when historical information is needed.
How do I find someone currently in the Midland County Jail?
Open the Midland County Sheriff’s Currently Held Detainees search and enter a partial or complete last name, or select the option to view all detainees. When the online result is unclear, call the Detention Division at 432-688-4745 or 432-688-4746. The Central Detention Facility is at 400 South Main Street in Midland.
What information appears in a Midland County detainee result?
The live detainee list can display the detainee’s name, attorney, offense, offense class, court, county, warrant or case number, arrest date, bond amount, fines, disposition and sentence-time fields. A jail entry is not proof of guilt and may not show the final prosecution result.
How do I request a Midland County arrest report?
For a report created by the Midland County Sheriff’s Office, use the Sheriff’s Open Records Request process. The official form includes options for offense reports, accident photographs, crime-scene photographs, arrest reports, body-camera footage and dash-camera footage. Requests may be returned to the Sheriff’s Office at 1703 East County Road 120 Building A, Midland, Texas 79706, emailed to mrecords@mcounty.com or faxed to 432-688-4972.
How do I request a Midland Police Department arrest or offense report?
Use the City of Midland Police Department Request A Police Report service when MPD created the report. The city states that incident and offense reports can be requested online and asks requesters to allow up to ten business days for processing. MPD Records can be reached at 432-685-7145 at 601 North Loraine in Midland.
How do I check bond for a Midland County inmate?
Bond information is shown beside individual charges in the Midland County current-detainee database. Review every charge because one case can have a bond while another warrant, detainer or case prevents release. The Sheriff’s current Money Deposits page also states that eligible bail payments may be made through the detention-facility kiosk or online through TouchPay. Call the Detention Division before paying when the release status is unclear.
What are Midland County Jail visitation hours?
Midland County currently publishes video visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Eligible inmates may have up to two visitors per visiting day and normal visits are at least twenty minutes per visitor. A visitor may visit once per visitation day on non-consecutive days, with up to four total visits per week for an inmate.
How do I send money or mail to a Midland County inmate?
Inmate account deposits are made through the jail lobby kiosk, online through TouchPay or by calling 866-232-1899. Money orders and cashier’s checks are no longer accepted for account deposits. Personal mail is sent to the Securus Digital Mail Center using the inmate’s full name and inmate ID. Legal mail and qualifying publications continue to use the Midland County Sheriff’s detention mailing address.
Can a Midland County Texas arrest record be expunged or sealed?
Some Texas records may qualify for expunction, while others may qualify for an order of nondisclosure. Eligibility depends on the arrest, exact charge, final disposition, waiting period, prior history and other facts. Midland County’s District Clerk publishes expunction information and nondisclosure forms. Obtain the complete case disposition before deciding which process may apply.
