See Who Was Booked in Guadalupe County—Then Check What Happened Next
If the arrest happened recently, start with the Guadalupe County jail-record search, not a statewide background check. Search the person’s name or booking number and narrow the booking-date range when possible. Save the booking number, arresting agency, charges and release information before leaving the result.
The same county records system can also lead you toward judicial records, but the office that owns the court file depends on the charge: misdemeanors generally route to the County Clerk, while felony district-court cases route to the District Clerk. This page walks through that local split and what families usually need immediately after an arrest.

What the jail record tells you—and what it does not
| Field | Useful for | Do not assume | Next step |
|---|---|---|---|
| Booking number | Identifying one specific jail intake. | It represents every prior or later arrest. | Save it for jail-record questions. |
| SO# | Detention services such as inmate mail and account identification. | It is the same thing as a court cause number. | Keep it with the booked name. |
| Booking date | Showing when the jail intake occurred. | It is the exact time the alleged offense happened. | Compare with the police report. |
| Release date | Showing that the jail stay ended. | Release means the charge was dismissed. | Search the court case. |
| Arresting agency | Identifying who likely owns the offense or arrest narrative. | The county jail wrote that report. | Request the report from that agency. |
| Booking charge | Seeing the allegation associated with intake. | It became the final filed or proven charge. | Find the formal court case. |
| Bond | Understanding a release condition currently associated with a charge. | Paying one amount clears every case or hold. | Call Bond Information. |
| Booking photo | Supporting identity review when published. | A photograph proves guilt. | Still verify DOB and booking identifiers. |
A missing search result does not necessarily mean no arrest occurred

How to verify the outcome
Check all charges before arranging a Guadalupe County bond
The accused posts the bond amount connected to the court’s release requirement.
Ask the proper Clerk about how funds are handled after the court appearance.
A licensed bail-bond company posts the bond under an agreement with the defendant.
Guadalupe County is a Bail Bond Board county.
The defendant may be released without posting the stated cash amount when a personal bond is approved.
The Magistrate considers whether personal bond is appropriate.
The arresting agency—not always the jail—usually has the report
Guadalupe County Adult Detention can receive people arrested by the Sheriff, Seguin Police, Schertz Police and other agencies. Read the arresting agency in the booking record before requesting an offense report.
Use for an incident or arrest report created by GCSO.

You cannot call an inmate directly at the Guadalupe County jail
Inmate living-unit telephones are listed as available from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
The Sheriff publishes a 20-minute time limit for each inmate telephone call.
The detention center does not accept incoming inmate calls or take ordinary messages for inmates.
Confirm the SO# before depositing money

Two jail rules families often discover too late
Published pickup hours are 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., Monday–Friday, except county holidays.
- The inmate must complete a property-release form.
- The form must identify the person receiving the property.
- The recipient must show state-issued identification.
- Property left after certain transfers can eventually be destroyed or donated if no arrangement is made.
The Sheriff says an inmate may receive court clothes only when going to a jury trial.
If someone is released without proper clothing, the facility states that indigent clothing will be provided for release.
Guadalupe County uses court-appointed counsel—not a general county Public Defender office
If the defendant cannot afford a lawyer, the issue can begin at magistration. The Magistrate Court states that the judge may facilitate or make the appointment of an attorney when appropriate.
The defendant should clearly tell the Magistrate or assigned court that appointed counsel is requested if private counsel cannot be afforded.
Guadalupe County publishes a Defendant’s Financial Affidavit process for people requesting court-appointed counsel in qualifying county-court cases.
The Guadalupe County Attorney handles both misdemeanor and felony prosecution
Guadalupe County is unusual compared with many Texas counties because its County Attorney has felony jurisdiction and represents the State in both misdemeanor and felony prosecutions.

Six things worth knowing before you start clicking
A short date window makes “recent bookings” much easier to review and reduces same-name noise.
That one field tells you whether the report belongs with GCSO, Seguin Police, Schertz Police or another agency.
The booking number helps identify the intake. The SO# is important for detention services such as mail.
Ordinary personal correspondence currently goes through the outside digital-mail vendor.
Misdemeanor court records go to the County Clerk; felony district-court records go to the District Clerk.
The county directs Justice Center visitors to its parking garage rather than relying on limited spaces beside the building.
Recent booking and arrest-record questions answered
How do I search recent bookings in Guadalupe County Texas?
Open the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s official Records Search and continue to the county Records Inquiry portal. Choose Jail Records, then search by the person’s name or booking number. For a recent arrest, use a short booking-date range when the date fields are available. Open the matching booking and verify the date of birth, booking number, booking date, arresting agency, charges and release information.
Can I search Guadalupe County jail records by booking number?
Yes. The Guadalupe County public records portal provides a Jail Records search that can be searched by booking number as well as defendant information. A booking number is particularly useful because it identifies a specific jail intake rather than every record associated with a similar name.
Why is a new Guadalupe County arrest not appearing online?
The person may still be going through booking, may be listed under a different spelling, may have been released quickly, may have received a citation instead of a jail booking, or may have been booked in another county. Guadalupe County says booking includes searching, completing the arrest report, fingerprinting and photographing the prisoner. Call Jail Records at 830-303-6342 extension 2239 when the online result remains unclear.
What is the difference between Jail Records and Judicial Records in Guadalupe County?
Jail Records answer booking and detention questions such as when a person was booked, the arresting agency, booking number, charges and release information. Judicial Records answer court questions such as the filed criminal case, court activity and disposition. A booking record is not a substitute for the final court record.
Which Guadalupe County clerk has a criminal case?
Guadalupe County misdemeanor criminal court records are handled by the County Clerk, whose Court Records division can be reached at 830-303-8861. District-court felony records are handled by the District Clerk; the Criminal and Collections Department can be reached at 830-303-8875. Fine-only Class C matters may instead be in a Justice of the Peace or municipal court.
How do I request a Guadalupe County arrest or offense report?
First identify the arresting agency from the jail record. For a Sheriff’s Office report, submit a written open-records request to the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office in person at 2617 North Guadalupe Street in Seguin, by mail, or by email at so.openrecords@guadalupetx.gov. Sheriff report copies are currently listed at 5 dollars each, with 10 cents per page after 10 pages.
How do I find bond information for a Guadalupe County inmate?
Call Guadalupe County Adult Detention bond information at 830-303-6342 and verify every active charge before arranging payment. After booking, a magistrate reviews the charges, advises the defendant of rights and determines bail or whether a personal bond is appropriate. Guadalupe County is a Bail Bond Board county, so surety companies must be licensed to post bonds there.
When can I visit an inmate at the Guadalupe County Adult Detention Center?
The current Sheriff’s page lists visits by the first letter of the inmate’s last name: A through L on Fridays and Sundays, and M through Z on Saturdays and Mondays. Male visitation is listed from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. and noon to 4 p.m.; female visitation is listed from 8 to 10 p.m. Each inmate may receive two 30-minute visits per week. Call visitation at 830-303-6342 extension 2270 before traveling because schedules can change.
How do I send mail or money to a Guadalupe County inmate?
Non-privileged personal mail is currently sent to the county’s mail vendor at PO Box 247, Phoenix, Maryland 21131 and is scanned for digital delivery. Include the inmate’s booked name and SO number plus the sender’s full name and return address. The Sheriff’s current detention page links TouchPay Online for inmate-account funding. Confirm the inmate’s SO number before sending mail or money.
Can a Guadalupe County arrest record be expunged or sealed?
Some Texas arrest records may qualify for expunction under Chapter 55 of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure, while some other records may qualify for an order of nondisclosure. Eligibility is fact-specific and is not automatic. Guadalupe County’s District Clerk publishes local expunction information and identifies agencies that may need notice, including the Sheriff, County Clerk, County Attorney, District Clerk and Texas DPS.
