Check a New Lubbock County Booking Before the Trail Goes Cold
If someone was arrested recently, start with the Lubbock County Sheriff’s active jail roster. You can search by name, booking number or Sheriff’s Office number. The county also provides its current roster in PDF and downloadable Excel formats.
One detail matters: an active jail roster is not the same thing as a permanent arrest-history database. Someone who was booked yesterday may already be released. This guide shows where to look next for the jail card, arrest report, bond, initial appearance and criminal court case.
Lubbock County describes the jail roster as real-time.
Name, booking number or Sheriff’s Office number.
3502 N. Holly Avenue, Lubbock, TX 79403.
806-775-7009 or 806-775-7048.
Local procedures checked August 17, 2026.
A recent arrest can create four different records
Start here for an active booking, booking number, SO number and current bond information available through the jail system.
The Detention Center Records Department handles jail cards. A request for another person requires an open-records request.
Request the offense or arrest report from the agency that made or investigated the arrest, not automatically from the jail.
Use the County Clerk for misdemeanor County Court at Law cases and the District Clerk for felony District Court cases.
“Recent arrests” and “active jail roster” are not identical
Lubbock County’s verified public search is primarily an active jail roster. That makes it excellent for answering “Is this person in jail right now?” but less reliable for reconstructing every arrest that happened during a previous day or week.
Person is still in custody
The active roster should be your first stop.
- Search by booked name.
- Use a booking number when available.
- Use the SO number for the most precise local jail identity.
- Reopen the record before paying bond or scheduling services.
Person was already released
Do not assume “no result” means “no arrest.”
- Search the Lubbock County court portal.
- Ask the Detention Center Records Department about the jail card.
- Request the arrest report from the arresting agency.
- Use the approximate arrest date to narrow each request.

The Sheriff states that people can typically bond out after seeing a magistrate. Initial Appearance hearings occur multiple times during the day as needed, and bond settings are placed on the online jail roster after they are set.

Texas DPS and TDCJ answer different questions
Texas DPS criminal history
Use DPS when you need a broader Texas criminal-history check rather than the status of one current Lubbock County booking.
- Public name searches require an account and search credits.
- A search credit currently costs $1.
- A full date of birth helps narrow a name search.
- DPS warns that name-based results can match the wrong person.
- Fingerprint identification is the reliable positive-identity method.
Texas Department of Criminal Justice
Use TDCJ after a person enters state-prison custody or when you need state location, offense or projected release information.
- Search by name.
- Use the SID number when available.
- Use the current TDCJ number for a more precise result.
- Do not use TDCJ as the first search for a fresh county-jail booking.
A missing jail result is not the same as an expunged record
Use correction when a government or private record contains inaccurate information.
Identify which agency owns the incorrect field and provide the controlling court or agency document.
These are legal remedies involving an otherwise accurate arrest or criminal record.
Eligibility depends on the exact arrest, charges, disposition, prior history and other statutory conditions.

Recent arrest and booking questions answered
How do I find recent arrests in Lubbock County Texas?
Start with the Lubbock County Sheriff’s official Active Jail Search. The roster can be searched by inmate name, booking number or Sheriff’s Office number. Open the correct person and save the identifying numbers and any charge or bond information shown. The county also publishes the current jail roster in PDF and Excel formats.
Is the Lubbock County jail roster updated in real time?
Lubbock County’s official jail-roster page states that its roster information is real-time. The Sheriff’s mobile app is a separate option and the Sheriff’s FAQ states that the app updates every half hour. Always reopen the official roster before acting on custody or bond information because a release, new bond or transfer can change the status.
Can I see everyone arrested yesterday in Lubbock County?
The verified county tools are primarily an active jail roster rather than a permanent historical daily-arrest archive. A person arrested yesterday may already have been released and disappear from an active-custody search. If that happens, check Lubbock County court records and request the jail card, booking record or arrest report from the agency that maintains it.
Can I search the Lubbock County jail by booking number or SO number?
Yes. The Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office states that the active jail roster can be searched by name, booking number or Sheriff’s Office number. The SO number is particularly useful for inmate mail, visitation and other detention-center services.
Why is a recent Lubbock County arrest not showing in the jail roster?
There is no official guaranteed publication time for a new booking. A person may still be processing, may have been released, may be listed under a different booked name, may have received a citation instead of being jailed, or may have been booked in another county. Call the Lubbock County Detention Center at 806-775-7009 or 806-775-7048 when the online roster does not answer the custody question.
How do I get a Lubbock County booking report or jail card?
The Sheriff’s FAQ states that an inmate can obtain a copy of his or her jail card from the Records Department at the Lubbock County Detention Center. To request a jail card for someone else, submit an open-records request through the Records Department. Current open-records contact information includes LCDCRecords@LubbockCounty.gov and fax number 806-775-7991.
How do I find the bond for someone recently arrested in Lubbock County?
Bond settings are added to the online jail roster after they are set. The Sheriff’s Office states that inmates can typically bond out after seeing a magistrate. An eligible bond may be posted in full at the Lubbock County Detention Center Bond Window or through a local surety company. Confirm every active case and bond before paying.
How do I visit someone in the Lubbock County Detention Center?
Register at SmartInmate.com, send the inmate a connection request, upload the required identification and recent photo, wait for facility approval and schedule the visit at least 24 hours in advance. The Sheriff’s current visitation rules list visiting hours from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., with the final visit scheduled to begin no later than 9:30 p.m.
How do I send mail or money to a Lubbock County inmate?
Regular personal mail is currently sent to Lubbock County Detention Center, inmate name and SO number, P.O. Box 9136, Seminole, Florida 33775-9133. Legal mail, court documents, bank statements and publications go to P.O. Box 10535, Lubbock, Texas 79408. Money for commissary, tablet and general account use can be deposited through Access Corrections using facility number 20172.
How do I find the final court result after a Lubbock County arrest?
Use Lubbock County Public Access after the booking. Felony criminal cases are maintained by the District Clerk, while misdemeanor County Court at Law cases are maintained by the County Clerk. A free registered account provides access to public case-index information such as parties, attorneys and scheduling, although document images are not included in ordinary registered access.
