Dallas County Arrest Log | Daily and Recent Bookings

Dallas County, Texas · Current custody, recent intake, book-in numbers and criminal cases

Check a Recent Dallas County Booking Without Waiting for a Daily List

Dallas County does not currently show one public, chronological page containing every arrest made on a selected day. Its official jail system works differently: search for a particular person, enter a known book-in number, or search by case number.

For a same-day arrest, start with the jail lookup and save the person’s book-in number, housing location, charges, bond and case numbers. When the arrest was made by Dallas Police, the city’s separate arrest-data viewer may also be searched using an arrest date and incident number.

First and last name Date of birth Race and sex Book-in number Case or incident number
MIDNIGHT BOOKING TICKER LIVE LOOKUP ROUTE
DALLAS JAIL LOOKUP RECENT INTAKE
NAME BOOK-IN CASE
COURT RECORD MATCH
DISPOSITION CHECKED

An arrest log is not a conviction list. A recent booking shows that a person entered a custody process. It does not prove guilt, and an intake charge can be changed, rejected, dismissed or resolved differently in court.
No date-only jail list

The county lookup currently requires person, book-in or case information.

Official county custody search

Search Dallas County recent bookings by person, book-in number or case

The county lookup currently offers three main routes: prisoner information, Bookin Number and Case Number. It does not display a public calendar for opening every booking made on a chosen date.
Open the official jail search Use the county-operated Dallas County Jail Lookup System. Open Dallas County Jail Lookup
Choose prisoner information for a name search Complete the required first-name, last-name, race and sex fields. Add the date of birth to reduce same-name matches.
Use the Bookin Number when known Dallas County uses the spelling “Bookin Number” on the official screen. This is the most direct way to reopen one booking record.
Use the case number for a known court matter This can connect an identified criminal case with the jail information currently available.
Open every plausible name match Compare the full name, date of birth, race, sex, book-in number, booking date and known arrest circumstances.
Record the current housing location The person may be assigned to a tower or housing area within the Lew Sterrett Justice Center complex.
Copy every charge and case number A person can have several cases with different bonds, courts, warrants and release conditions.
Read the bond entry for each charge Do not assume the first displayed amount covers every case.
Save or print the result Keep the date and time you viewed it because housing, bond and release information can change.
Continue to the court portal The jail result is not the final prosecution outcome.
Write these details down before closing the result: booked name, date of birth, book-in number, booking date, housing location, arresting agency when shown, every charge, every case number, bond amount and current status.
Why the book-in number matters: Dallas County requires it for common tasks such as inmate mail and trust-account deposits. A name alone is more likely to cause a payment or mail-routing mistake.

Why a recent Dallas County booking may not appear

The person is still being processed Intake, identification, medical screening, warrant checks and system entry can occur before the public result is available.
The name is entered differently Check a middle name, suffix, hyphenated surname, maiden name, former name or spelling variation.
The person was released quickly Search the court portal and contact inmate information when the person no longer appears in active custody.
The person received a citation A criminal or municipal case can exist without a Dallas County jail booking.
The booking happened elsewhere Search the county or municipality where the person was actually taken into custody.
The arrest is in a city system Use the DPD data viewer or the arresting city’s official records process.
The person was transferred Check another county, the Texas Department of Criminal Justice or federal custody when appropriate.

How to build an accurate Dallas County daily arrest log

The county does not currently provide a ready-made public spreadsheet of every booking for a selected day. A reliable log must be assembled from identified records rather than scraped from unrelated mugshot websites.
Define the date window Record the beginning and ending time for the period you are researching. Do not mix arrest date, booking date and publication date.
Collect known names or identifiers Use official incident information, book-in numbers, case numbers or verified names rather than rumours or social-media posts.
Run each person through Dallas County Jail Lookup Save the result with the date and time viewed.
Check DPD arrest data when applicable Use the arrested-date field only for Dallas Police records, not as a countywide booking list.
Separate arresting agency from jail A person can be housed by Dallas County after arrest by DPD, Irving, Garland, a constable, DPS or another agency.
Record every case number and bond Do not combine several cases into one charge summary.
Verify the court filing Search the Courts Portal and note whether the matter is felony, misdemeanor, municipal or not yet filed.
Preserve status changes Note when the person was released, transferred or moved because a later lookup may show a different status.
A useful log column set: name, date of birth verification, arrest date, booking date, book-in number, arresting agency, housing location, charge, case number, bond, custody status, court result and last checked time.
Do not publish a name-only match. Dallas County contains many people with identical or similar names. A daily-log project should require at least two identifiers and a visible arrest-is-not-conviction notice.

Match the Dallas County booking to the court record

Dallas County’s public Courts Portal covers felony and misdemeanor case information and documents. Public access does not currently require registration.
Open the official public-access landing page Read the county disclaimer, then select Accept to enter the court-record system. Open Dallas County Court Records
Search the exact case number first Copy it from the jail result to avoid broad same-name results.
Use the party search when necessary Compare full name, DOB, filing date, court and charge.
Identify felony versus misdemeanor The District Clerk maintains felony and magistrate records. The County Clerk maintains misdemeanor criminal records.
Read docket events in date order Look for probable-cause activity, charging documents, bond orders, settings, pleas, dismissals, judgments and sentencing.
Check every count separately One count can be dismissed while another remains pending or ends in a different disposition.
Do not rely on a “closed” label alone Find the actual judgment, dismissal, plea or disposition language.

Avoid these common errors

Dallas County arrest-log mistakes that waste time

Looking for a date list that is not there

The county jail search currently requires person, book-in or case information rather than a daily calendar.

Using DPD data as a countywide log

The city viewer covers Dallas Police records, not every agency booking into Dallas County.

Ignoring the official “Bookin” spelling

The jail portal labels the identifier Bookin Number. Save it exactly as displayed.

Checking only the first case

Another case, warrant or hold may keep the person in custody.

Mailing to an old Dallas address

Personal mail currently goes to the Seminole, Florida processing centre.

Paying a bond scammer remotely

Dallas County says bonds are posted in person and warns against CashApp and wire demands.

10 title-specific questions

Dallas County daily and recent booking questions

How do I check today’s Dallas County jail bookings?

Use the official Dallas County Jail Lookup. The county does not currently provide a public chronological list of every person booked on a selected date. Search for a specific person using the required name fields, or search with a known book-in number or case number. For a Dallas Police Department arrest, the DPD Public Data Viewer also allows a search using the arrested date and incident number.

Can I search the Dallas County arrest log by booking date?

The main Dallas County Jail Lookup currently searches by prisoner information, book-in number or case number rather than by a public booking-date calendar. Use the person’s name and identifying details, search a known book-in number, or call the inmate information line at 214-761-9025 when a same-day booking is not yet visible.

What information do I need for a Dallas County inmate search?

For a name search, prepare the person’s first and last name and complete the date-of-birth, race and sex fields requested by the portal. A book-in number or case number is more precise when available. Open every plausible result and compare the full name, date of birth, book-in number, booking date, housing location and case numbers.

Why is a recent Dallas County arrest not appearing online?

The person may still be processing, may have been released quickly, may be listed under a different spelling, may have received a citation rather than a county-jail booking, or may have been booked in another county or municipal system. Search alternate spellings, check the court portal and call Dallas County inmate information at 214-761-9025 when necessary.

Does the Dallas County jail lookup show the final court outcome?

No. The jail lookup helps identify custody, booking, charge, bond, housing and case information. Use the Dallas County Courts Portal to find the filed charge, docket activity and final disposition. The District Clerk maintains felony records, while the County Clerk maintains misdemeanor criminal records.

Where can I post bond for a Dallas County inmate?

An adult with acceptable identification may post an eligible bond in person at the Dallas County Bond Desk inside the Lew Sterrett Justice Center, 111 West Commerce Street, Dallas, Texas 75202. The desk operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Dallas County does not accept debit or credit cards for cash bonds and warns against CashApp, gift-card and wire-transfer scams.

How do I schedule Dallas County jail visitation?

Register through SmartInmate and schedule the video visit at least 72 hours in advance. The registering visitor must be at least 17 and present valid government-issued photo identification. Visits last 20 minutes. On-site visits are limited to two per week, and the currently published on-site schedule has no visitation on Wednesday.

What is the Dallas County inmate mailing address?

Personal mail should state the inmate’s booked name and book-in number, followed by c/o Mail Processing Center, P.O. Box 9226, Seminole, Florida 33775-9226. Include the sender’s full name and return address. Use only one side of each letter page, and review the current prohibited-item rules before mailing.

How do I add money to a Dallas County inmate account?

You need the inmate’s booked name and book-in number. Dallas County currently lists cash kiosks at the jails, CashPayToday walk-in locations, Access Corrections online deposits and telephone deposits at 866-345-1884. Confirm the inmate’s identity and current housing before paying.

Can a Dallas County arrest record be expunged or sealed?

Some Texas arrest records may qualify for expunction, while certain eligible criminal records may qualify for an order of nondisclosure. Eligibility depends on the charge, disposition, waiting period, prior history and other cases arising from the arrest. Obtain the complete Dallas County court disposition before using Texas court forms or seeking legal advice.
