Brazoria County changed its inmate-mail system in January 2023. Most non-legal personal mail is sent to an off-site processing location, converted for electronic delivery and then destroyed.

Important: Brazoria County states that material sent to the Longview processing address will not be returned or released. After processing, it is destroyed. Do not mail an irreplaceable family photograph, original certificate or one-of-a-kind document.
Legal mail is different. The Longview personal-mail processing address does not accept legal mail. Privileged mail that meets the Sheriff’s definition must be sent through the jail’s legal-mail procedure.
