Find a Williamson County Booking Before You Call or Drive to the Jail

Use Williamson County’s own Records Inquiry first. Select Jail Records and search with the person’s first and last name, or enter the booking number when you already have it. Save the booking or Sheriff’s Office number before you try to post bond, schedule a visit, send mail or deposit money.

If the arrest was recent and nothing appears, do not assume the person was released. Booking, magistration and record entry can happen before the online result is useful. This guide shows the fastest next step, including the separate Jail Bond Records search and the correct County Clerk or District Clerk route for the criminal case.

The arrest is still being processed A new arrestee may still be going through booking or other intake procedures.
Magistration may be underway Williamson County magistrates conduct bail hearings at the jail seven days a week, 365 days a year.
The person was released quickly Search the criminal court records and call Jail Information if the custody event may already have ended.
The name is entered differently Try the legal surname, former surname, hyphenated spelling, suffix or another known spelling.
It was handled as cite and release Williamson County has a cite-and-release process for certain offenses in which the person is processed later at the Justice Center instead of remaining in jail.
The arrest happened outside Williamson County A Round Rock, Cedar Park or Georgetown connection does not necessarily mean the person was booked into this county jail.
The person moved to state custody Use TDCJ when the person has been transferred into the Texas prison system.
The record is legally restricted Juvenile, sealed, expunged and other protected records may not be available through ordinary public searches.

What happens after booking

The first appearance is where bail and release conditions are explained

Arrest and booking The Sheriff records the custody event and the person enters the jail process.
Magistrate hearing Williamson County associate judges conduct Article 15.17 bail hearings at the jail seven days a week, including weekends and holidays.
Rights and charges are explained The magistrate advises the arrestee of rights, charges, bail and release conditions.
Bail conditions are set The magistrate can impose release conditions and emergency protective orders where applicable.
Case proceeds to the appropriate court A misdemeanor generally routes differently from a felony, so the correct clerk matters when you later need court records.
The magistrate does not decide guilt. Williamson County specifically states that the associate judge at first appearance does not determine guilt or innocence and cannot provide legal advice.
Bond and release

Check Jail Bond Records before calling a bondsman

Williamson County Records Inquiry includes a separate Jail Bond Records search in addition to Jail Records.
Find the correct inmate first Save the booking number and SO number before discussing money.
Return to Records Inquiry Select the Jail Bond Records option rather than relying on a third-party bond page.
Check every pending cause One person may have several charges with different release conditions.
Know the three bond types Williamson County Pretrial Services identifies cash, surety and personal bonds.
Do not promise yourself a PR bond Certain non-violent cases may be automatically considered for a personal bond, but only a judge can approve release on one.
For misdemeanors, an attorney can ask the magistrate Williamson County says an attorney may submit a personal-bond request to the magistrate in misdemeanor cases.
For felonies, the request goes to the assigned felony judge This is another reason the correct court case matters.
Verify a commercial bondsman Use the Bail Bond Board’s current licensed bondsmen list rather than selecting an unsolicited caller.
PR bond fee: Williamson County currently states that a defendant released on a Personal Recognizance bond is required to pay an administrative fee equal to 3% of the bond.

Do not confuse ordinary jail booking with cite and release

Williamson County’s current Cite and Release information says qualifying defendants who were issued a citation instead of being taken to jail must appear at the processing center at 405 Martin Luther King Street in Georgetown on the date shown on the citation. The county currently lists a $2,000 PR bond and a $60 processing fee for that specific cite-and-release process. The magistrate office states that it does not accept cash for that fee; money order or cashier’s check is used.
Those cite-and-release amounts apply to that specific county program. Do not assume the same bond or fee applies to an ordinary jail booking.
From roster to court result

Williamson County uses different clerks for misdemeanors and felonies

This local distinction matters: Class A and B misdemeanor records are maintained through the Williamson County Clerk. Felony criminal cases filed in district court are maintained by the Williamson County District Clerk.
Open Williamson County Records Inquiry The same platform used for jail information also includes Criminal Case Records. Open Judicial Records
Select “Criminal Case Records” Do not stay in the Jail Records section when you need a prosecutor or court outcome.
Search the cause number when available The cause number is more precise than a name-only court search.
Match the defendant and charge Compare the court filing to the booking record rather than assuming two people with the same name are one person.
Identify misdemeanor or felony jurisdiction This tells you which clerk should handle a copy or certified record request.
Read the newest docket information Court dates can change, and not every criminal case has an active setting.
Look for the actual disposition Determine whether each count remains pending or ended in dismissal, plea, deferred adjudication, conviction, acquittal or another order.

Booking sheet and arrest report

Ask the Sheriff for the exact document instead of “everything”

Williamson County Sheriff’s Office public-information instructions specifically list records such as an offense report, event report and booking sheet. A focused request is easier to identify than a broad request for every record connected to a person.

Confirm which agency created the report A Williamson County Jail inmate may have been arrested by WCSO, Georgetown Police, Round Rock Police, Cedar Park Police, a constable, DPS or another agency.
For WCSO records, submit a written request The Sheriff requires Texas Public Information Act requests to be submitted through an approved written method.
Include your contact information Provide your name, address, telephone number and email address.
Add identifying case details Include the case number, incident date, incident location and identifying information for the people involved.
Name the document Ask specifically for the booking sheet, offense report, event report or another identified public record.
Say whether you accept the public portion with redactions The Sheriff warns that declining or failing to answer this question may require an Attorney General ruling before material can be released.

Do not discuss legal strategy on ordinary jail communications. Treat routine inmate calls, video visits and messages as non-confidential. Case facts, witnesses, passwords, evidence and defence strategy should be discussed with the lawyer through appropriate confidential channels.
Court-appointed counsel

An inmate can request an appointed attorney from inside the jail

Under Williamson County’s indigent-defense process, a person charged with a misdemeanor punishable by jail or a felony may qualify for court-appointed counsel after completing the required financial application. Appointment is not automatic.
Ask at the magistrate hearing A defendant may request appointed counsel when meeting with the magistrate shortly after arrest.
A jailed defendant can use the kiosk Williamson County says an inmate may submit a Request for Court Appointed Attorney through a jail kiosk; a pod officer can help.
A written request is also allowed from jail This helps when kiosk access is not available.
A released defendant can apply online The county’s Indigent Defense Portal can be used before the first court date.
Do not skip court while waiting for a lawyer Williamson County courts explicitly tell defendants that they must still appear in court even if they cannot afford counsel.

Five details that can save a wasted trip or payment

Use Jail Bond Records separately

The county portal has distinct Jail Records and Jail Bond Records options. Search both when release is the question.

Keep the SO number

Williamson County Pretrial Services uses the SO# in post-release processes, so save it with the booking number.

NCIC and Access Corrections are not interchangeable

NCIC handles inmate communication/video. Access Corrections is used for the inmate trust account.

Personal mail goes to Longview

Ordinary inmate correspondence is scanned by NCIC. Legal mail and approved publications still use the Georgetown jail mailing address.

The clerk depends on the charge level

County Clerk handles Class A/B misdemeanor court records; District Clerk handles felony district-court records.

Parking near the Justice Center is free

The county specifically identifies the nearby 4th Street surface lot and garage as convenient options.

10 Williamson County jail questions

Williamson County Jail roster questions answered

How do I search the Williamson County Texas jail roster?

Use the official Williamson County Records Inquiry and select Jail Records. The Sheriff’s Corrections Bureau says jail records can be searched by the inmate’s first and last name or by booking number. Open the correct result and save the booking number or SO number before checking bond, visitation, mail or court information.

Can I find a Williamson County inmate without a booking number?

Yes. Williamson County says the Jail Records search accepts the inmate’s first and last name. Use identifying information in the returned record to make sure you have the correct person. If the arrest was very recent and no record appears, call Jail Information at 512-943-1365.

Why is someone arrested in Williamson County not showing on the jail roster?

A recent arrest may still be in booking or magistration, the person may have been released quickly, the name may be entered differently, the event may have been handled through cite and release, or the person may be in another jurisdiction. Try the name search again, check court records when a case may already exist, and call Jail Information at 512-943-1365 if custody remains unclear.

How do I check a Williamson County inmate’s bond?

The Williamson County Records Inquiry includes a separate Jail Bond Records option. Check all cases before arranging payment because each charge can have a different release condition. Williamson County Pretrial Services explains that Texas bonds may be cash, surety or personal, and only a judge can approve a personal bond.

Where is the Williamson County Jail in Georgetown?

The Williamson County Jail reception entrance is at 306 West 4th Street, Georgetown, Texas 78626, at the north end of the Sheriff’s Office. Jail Information can be reached at 512-943-1365.

How do I visit an inmate at Williamson County Jail?

Williamson County uses video visitation. Inmates may receive family visits during approved times and may identify up to five friends as visitors. Visitors should arrive 15 minutes early with a current valid state-issued ID and may bring only their ID and keys into the jail. Visits last 20 minutes and the county allows two visits per week, one per day. NCIC also supports remote visits.

What is the Williamson County Jail inmate mailing address?

Regular personal mail is sent to NCIC-Williamson County Jail, Inmate Name-SO Number, PO Box 591, Longview, TX 75606. The inmate’s name and booking or ID number must be clearly written on the envelope or postcard. Legal mail, court documents, books and authorized publications use the separate Williamson County Jail address at PO Box 2119, Georgetown, TX 78627.

How do I add money to a Williamson County inmate account?

The Sheriff’s Corrections Bureau lists Access Corrections online, 866-345-1884, the kiosk in the Williamson County Jail lobby, and mailed money orders or cashier’s checks as trust-fund deposit methods. Mailed trust funds go to Inmate Trust Fund, inmate’s last name, first name and date of birth, PO Box 1939, Georgetown, TX 78627.

How do I find the court case after locating someone on the Williamson County jail roster?

Use the same Williamson County Records Inquiry and select Criminal Case Records. Class A and B misdemeanor court records are maintained through the County Clerk, while felony district-court records are maintained by the District Clerk. Match the case using the defendant’s identity, cause number, charge and filing information rather than relying only on the jail entry.

How do I request a Williamson County booking sheet or arrest report?

For Sheriff’s Office records, submit a written Texas Public Information Act request to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office Open Records unit. Include your contact information plus the case number, incident date, location, involved person’s identifying information and the exact record requested, such as a booking sheet, offense report or event report.
