Tarrant County Mugshots Search | Recent Booking Photos

Tarrant County, Texas · Recent bookings, CID search, jail photos and court verification

Find the Booking First, Then Confirm the Person and Case

Tarrant County uses two different official tools for this task. The Daily Booked-In Reports show who was booked during the most recent 14 days, while the separate Inmate Search can show current custody, a CID, active bookings, bond information and an available booking photo.

The quickest route is to open the newest daily report, copy the person’s CID, and search that CID in the inmate database. Before trusting the photo, match the CID, booking number, book-in date and current facility. Then check the criminal court record because a booking image does not show whether a charge was dismissed, changed or proven.

A mugshot records booking—not guilt. A photograph may confirm that someone passed through the booking process, but it does not show the final filed charge, conviction status or court outcome. Avoid identifying a person from facial appearance alone.

Official 14-day booking list

Find a recent Tarrant County booking before searching for the photo

Tarrant County publishes 14 separate Daily Booked-In Reports. Day 1 is the newest report and Day 14 is the oldest. Each report covers people booked during the reporting period shown on the PDF.
Open the Daily Booked-In Reports page Open the official 14-day report list
Select Day 1 for the newest arrests The report opens as a PDF. Read the report date at the top rather than assuming it represents today.
Move backward through the reports when necessary Use Day 2, Day 3 and later reports when the booking happened earlier.
Use the PDF search function On most computers press Ctrl+F or Command+F and enter the surname. On a phone, use the PDF viewer’s Find option.
Confirm the full booked name Watch for middle names, suffixes, alternate spellings and several people with similar names.
Copy the CID The CID is the most useful bridge between the text report and the inmate-detail page.
Copy the booking number and book-in date A CID can be connected with more than one custody event. The booking number identifies the particular intake.
Note every charge description More than one listed charge can share the same booking number.
Continue to the separate Inmate Search The daily report does not function as a mugshot gallery.
Privacy-conscious tip: The PDF may contain more identifying information than you need. Save only the CID, booking number, book-in date and charge information required for the next official search.
Booking-photo lookup

Use the CID to open the correct inmate-detail page

Fastest sequence: Daily report → copy CID → open Inmate Search → enter CID → open result → verify booking number and facility → check court disposition.
Open the official Tarrant County Inmate Search Open Inmate Search
Enter the CID by itself A CID search is usually more precise than a broad name search.
Use the name fields when no CID is known Enter the last name first. Add the first name, race or sex only when the result list is too broad.
Adjust Records to Display Increase the number of displayed records when a common surname produces many possible matches.
Open the matching row Compare the CID, surname, first and middle name, race, sex and in-custody status.
Look for the booking image The detail page may display the booking image when available. It may instead say that the mugshot is unavailable.
Read the current custody location The page may identify the Corrections Center, Green Bay, Lon Evans or another current status.
Review Tarrant County Active Bookings Save the charge, case, booking number, commitment authority, book-in date, bond type, posted status, conditions, hold or no-bond status and amount.
Review Other Agency Active Bookings Another agency’s warrant or hold can affect release even when a county bond is shown.
Do not stop at the photograph Search the related misdemeanor or felony court record to learn what happened after booking.
Do not use a face-only match. Booking lighting, image quality, age, hair, injury, expression and camera angle can make visual identification unreliable.
Two different county tools

Inmate-detail page

Use for an available booking image, demographics, current facility, active bookings, bonds, conditions and holds.

Daily Booked-In Report

Use to scan new bookings by date and copy the CID, booking number and listed charge. The PDF itself is not a photo gallery.

Identity safeguard

Verify the person before saving or sharing the booking photo

The full booked surname and given names match
The CID matches the daily booking report
The booking number matches the intended intake
The book-in date fits the known event
Race and sex filters are consistent
The current facility or custody status is plausible
The charge or commitment authority fits the known arrest
The court case follows the same booking number or date
Minimum verification rule: Use at least two independent identifiers in addition to the photograph. Do not publish an allegation based only on a face, name or third-party screenshot.
Do not infer protected or sensitive characteristics from a mugshot. A booking image is not a reliable source for health, disability, immigration status, religion, occupation, intoxication, mental condition or guilt.
Missing result or image

Why the booking photo may not appear

Booking is still processing The person may be photographed before the public detail page is fully updated.
The image has not posted Text data and the booking image may become available at different times.
The system displays “Mugshot not available” This is an official system result and should not be replaced with an unverified image from another website.
The person was released The daily report may remain available even when the current inmate page changes.
The name was entered differently Search by surname, partial first name, CID, race or sex.
The booking occurred outside Tarrant County An arrest in Arlington, Fort Worth or another city does not guarantee booking into the county jail.
The person was transferred Current custody may move to another county, TDCJ, federal custody, a hospital or another authorised location.
The record is restricted Juvenile, expunged, sealed, protected or otherwise confidential information may not be publicly displayed.
Try this order: search the CID → search the surname → remove the first-name filter → increase records displayed → compare the 14-day report → call 817-884-3000 → request an official record only when necessary.

Booking-to-court verification

Check what happened after the mugshot was taken

Tarrant County splits misdemeanor and felony records between two clerks. Using the wrong clerk can make a real case appear missing.

Class A and B misdemeanors

The Tarrant County Clerk Criminal Division maintains Class A and B misdemeanor records arising from offenses in Tarrant County.

  • Ask for the case number, court assignment, court date, attorney or bondsman.
  • Records currently date back to 1976.
  • Call 817-884-1066 for case information or copy instructions.
  • The County Clerk cannot provide felony case information.

Felony cases

The Tarrant County District Clerk maintains filed felony criminal cases and related District Court documents.

  • Use the case number when available.
  • Contact Felony Research at 817-884-1342.
  • Visit the third floor of the Tim Curry Justice Center.
  • Do not use a county misdemeanor search as proof that no felony case exists.

Sheriff records and official copies

Request a booking photo, jail record or incarceration letter

The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Records Division is the local contact for jail records. Requests should include enough detail to locate the exact booking rather than asking broadly for “all mugshots.”
Identify the exact record Specify booking photograph, jail booking record, incarceration dates, offense report or another named record.
Provide the booked name and CID Include the booking number and book-in date whenever available.
Explain the relevant date or event A person can have several bookings under one CID.
Submit through the official records route Use the Sheriff’s public-record instructions rather than sending the request to an employee’s unrelated email.
Include your contact information Staff may need clarification or may send a cost estimate.
Ask for electronic delivery Electronic delivery can be easier when an available image or document does not require certification.
Do not ask the Sheriff for a city police narrative Fort Worth, Arlington and other police departments maintain reports created by their own officers.

Letter of Incarceration

A person can obtain a Letter of Incarceration to prove the dates they were held in the Tarrant County Jail. The individual normally must appear at the Records Division with valid state photo identification. A friend or family member cannot request the letter for someone else unless the person is still in the Tarrant County Jail.
Government agencies and attorneys can submit written requests for an incarceration letter. The Sheriff states that verbal requests to obtain and send the letter are not accepted.

Correction, expunction and removal

Do not confuse a dismissed charge with an erased mugshot

Locate the controlling court case Determine whether it was a misdemeanor, felony or unfiled magistration matter.
Obtain the final disposition Request the signed dismissal, judgment, acquittal, no-bill or other final record.
Identify what is inaccurate A correct booking photo is different from an incorrectly named or mismatched photo.
Ask the record owner to correct factual errors Contact the Sheriff for a jail-record error and the correct clerk for a court-record error.
Evaluate expunction or nondisclosure Eligibility depends on the exact charge, disposition, waiting period and criminal history.
Contact private websites separately A county correction may not automatically update a copied image on a private site.

Factual correction

Use this when the name, CID, booking number, charge attribution or other recorded fact is wrong.

Provide the exact disputed field and controlling official document.

Dismissal

A dismissal resolves a court charge but does not by itself guarantee that every booking record or image disappears.

Expunction

An eligible expunction can require covered government records relating to an arrest to be removed or destroyed.

Nondisclosure

An eligible order generally restricts public disclosure but does not erase every authorised government record.

Tarrant County District Clerk Felony/Civil contacts:
Expunctions: 817-884-1231
Nondisclosures: 817-884-2508
Do not submit a removal request based only on the word “dismissed.” Obtain the complete disposition and determine whether correction, expunction, nondisclosure or a private-site dispute is the appropriate route.

10 title-specific questions

Tarrant County mugshot and recent-booking questions

How do I find recent Tarrant County mugshots?

Open the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Daily Booked-In Reports to identify a recent booking, then save the person’s CID and booking number. Open the official Inmate Search, enter the CID or name, and select the matching result. A booking photo may appear on the inmate-detail page when available.

Do Tarrant County Daily Booked-In Reports show mugshots?

No. The daily reports are text-based PDF lists showing information such as the inmate name, CID, book-in date, booking number and charge description. Use the CID from the report in the separate Tarrant County Inmate Search to look for an available booking photo and current custody details.

How far back do the Tarrant County recent-booking reports go?

The Sheriff’s Daily Booked-In Reports page provides reports for the most recent 14 days. Day 1 is the newest report and Day 14 is the oldest report currently offered on that page.

What is a CID number in the Tarrant County inmate search?

CID is the county identification number associated with a person in the Tarrant County jail system. It is more precise than a name-only search and can be copied from the daily booking report or inmate result. A CID can be associated with more than one booking event, so also compare the booking number and book-in date.

Why does the Tarrant County inmate page say mugshot not available?

A booking image may be unavailable because processing is incomplete, the image has not posted, the record is restricted, the person was released or transferred, or the system cannot display the image. Verify the CID and booking number and contact the Sheriff’s Records Division when an official copy is genuinely required.

How do I verify that a Tarrant County mugshot belongs to the correct person?

Compare the full booked name, CID, race, sex, booking number, book-in date, current facility and known arrest circumstances. Do not identify someone from facial appearance alone. Use at least two independent identifiers before relying on or sharing the record.

Does a Tarrant County booking photo mean the person was convicted?

No. A booking photo documents custody processing and does not prove guilt or conviction. Check the County Clerk for misdemeanor cases, the District Clerk for felony cases, and the relevant court docket for the filed charge and final disposition.

How do I request an official Tarrant County booking photo or jail record?

Submit a public-information request to the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Records Division. Include the full booked name, CID, booking number, book-in date and the exact record requested. The Records Division is at 200 Taylor Street, sixth floor, Fort Worth, Texas 76196, and can be reached at 817-884-2942.

How do I check bond and current custody after finding a Tarrant County mugshot?

Open the official inmate-detail page and review the current facility, active bookings, charges, case or warrant numbers, bond type, bond amount, posted status, conditions and hold or no-bond fields. Call the Tarrant County Jail Information Line at 817-884-3000 before paying or travelling.

Can a Tarrant County mugshot be removed after a dismissal or expunction?

A dismissal alone does not automatically erase every booking image. An eligible Texas expunction may require covered government records to be removed or destroyed, while an order of nondisclosure generally restricts public disclosure without erasing every record. Obtain the certified disposition and confirm eligibility before filing or contacting private websites.
